I use Dameware as my go to remote control software package.

I am able to quickly take over a machine and solve issues remotely, even if the machine does not have the client I can push it out to the machine to initiate a session. it saves a lot of time being able to remotely support an issue.

This saves me from walking across town to deal with desktop issues. I connect from my desktop or a tablet and I can solve problems on the fly. This works great. You can make changes on the back end, like through the command prompt. This rocks.
