If the vendor does not really understand what you are trying to accomplish the product may not meet your needs because of how the vendor configured it. Experience in your industry and sector is critical.

From the guy in charge of implmentation

Overall, pretty good. There is a ton of cultural and behavioral issues to document management that software cant cure. M-Files would do better if it helped on these issues with an e-book or cultural audit tool before starting. Another idea is to really stress the integration of systems such as ERP customer listings etc. into the system so the naming remains the same. Additionally, a duplicate finder would be a really hand tool. Overall the software is a reasonable price but spotty implementation and not getting culture change will undo the software.
